The great shortstop has had a worrisomely sluggish start at the plate after the tumultuous offseason that brought him back to Minnesota.
His swing is now starting to take shape. Devin Williams, the closer for Milwaukee, can attest.
The Twins defeated the Brewers 7-5 on Tuesday night because to Correa’s two-run home slam that capped a four-run ninth inning off Williams, who is often quite effective.

Rocco Baldelli, manager of the Twins, said: “Even through amazing nights like tonight, or anything that went on earlier this year, he handles it all the same. By the way, it’s called leadership.
In the same way as he did for World Series winner Houston during the 2021 postseason, Correa dropped his bat as he turned to his dugout and tapped his wrist to indicate that it was his turn to hit, crushing Williams’ (1-1) 1-1 changeup off the second-deck façade beyond left field.
Just, you know, didn’t have my gear today. stated Williams. “Despite your best efforts, perfection is something you can never achieve.”
Williams failed to record an out, and his previously dazzling 0.42 ERA rose to 2.08 as a result. This was his first blown save in 11 attempts. He was greeted by Michael A. Taylor with a home run before Eduoard Julien took a step.

Following Donovan Solano’s tying single, pinch-runner Willi Castro stole second and advanced to home plate despite Tommy Watkins’ stop sign, paving the way for Carlos Correa’s 13th walk-off hit of his career. Three of those are from the postseason.
Correa pointing at his watch was undoubtedly one of the best things Julien had ever witnessed on a baseball pitch.
Williams had an opponent batting average of.110 coming into the day, but he allowed two home runs in a game for the first time in his big league career. Despite Christian Yelich’s home run and a season-high four RBIs, the Brewers lost and dropped to 28-1 despite being ahead after eight innings.
Yelich added, “That’s just how it goes sometimes when you’re in kind of a bad period.

For the Twins, who have scored 22 runs in their last three games, Solano and Correa have combined for five RBIs. In the eighth inning, they had the bases loaded, but Joey Gallo, who had been activated from the injured list before the game, struck out to end it.
“The atmosphere is different. There is a distinct vibe and confidence level. Correa, who has three home runs in the last five games and is hitting, stated that you can see it when players step up to the plate.217.
LOUD YELICH
Yelich had three hits and had only scored three runs in his previous 24 games. In the third inning, he hit a two-run double against Twins starter Pablo López. His two-out, two-run drive in the seventh inning against José De León gave the Brewers and starting pitcher Corbin Burnes a 5-2 advantage.
FOR BEGINNERS
Burnes was relieved of his duties after eight scoreless innings to defeat Baltimore last week after Kyle Farmer’s leadoff home run in the eighth. After suffering a tough 2-1 loss to MLB’s top-ranked Tampa Bay last week, Lopez went six innings with nine strikeouts. Josh Winder (1-0) earned the victory by pitching two scoreless frames.

COMING SOON
After being released by Boston on June 5, veteran outfielder Raimel Tapia joined the Brewers in Minnesota and even participated in pregame batting practise on the pitch. The Brewers did not immediately confirm the signing of Tapia, who has played in 39 games for the Red Sox and has batted.264 in 606 major league games with a.276 average.
