Following a thrilling victory over the Texas Longhorns on Monday night, the Stanford Cardinal moved to their third consecutive College World Series.
When Alberto Rios reached base in the bottom of the ninth inning, Cardinal infielder Drew Bowser was at the plate. Dylan Campbell of the Longhorns appeared to be making a routine play after Bowser hit a long fly ball. Campbell and the rest of the team, though, appeared to misplace the ball in the illumination.

Rios scored after turning around, giving Stanford the win.
Before the Longhorns came roaring back in the fourth inning, Bowser also blasted a home run in the second inning to make it a 2-0 contest. He had a 2-for-4 performance, three RBIs, and a walk.
With an RBI single in the top of the eighth, Campbell tied the score. In the bottom of the eighth, Campbell made a fantastic play by catching a fly ball and throwing out a runner who was attempting to advance to third base. He went 2-for-5 overall, drove in a run, and struck out.

After Quinn Mathews threw 156 pitches on Sunday night to keep the Cardinal in the Super Regionals, Stanford used six pitchers in the contest. After working for one inning and striking out two batters, Joey Dixon earned the victory.
According to the university, Stanford has now triumphed in 14 straight elimination games at Sunken Diamond.

The College World Series will begin on Saturday with a game between the Cardinal and Wake Forest.
